Foremark Reservoir

Set within the South Derbyshire countryside and within easy reach of Derby & Nottingham as well as the M1 Foremark Fishery has grown into a popular midland Stillwater.
Foremark is one of the earliest midlands fisheries to open with its season running from 1st March to 30th November, stocked with trout ranging in size from 750g to over 4.5kg stocked each season.

Early season bank fishing is always good, with Verdon Point, Flamingo Bay, Sunblest and Bramble Bay being favourite bank fishing areas. As the season progresses boat fishing becomes popular giving anglers access to the cooler deeper water. Foremark is fortunate to have an aerator pumping air bubbles through the water column bringing with it the cooler water that the trout enjoy. The bubbles, as it’s known, will always produce a trout or two even during the hottest summer day. As the season turns into the autumn the trout once again head for the banks as they move in to feed on the fry bonanza.

With its water pumped from the river Dove, Foremark is one of the very few reservoirs to enjoy a Mayfly Hatch, the main hatch usually occurs during early June down along the sandy banks of Carvers Arm. Excellent buzzer hatches also occur and, with its natural banks, the Hawthorn and Daddy Longlegs, when blown onto the water, provide exciting sport for the visiting fly fisher.

Local clubs and associations regularly use Foremark to host their competitions, reduced rates for groups & competitions.
