Catch of the week:
Robert Smith fishing alongside son Jake took double honours this week with both heaviest fish; a 4lb 8oz rainbow and heaviest total catch with seven rainbows and one blue tipping the scales at an enviable 19lb 8oz total weight.

Memorable moment of the week:

Fontburn regular Rob Henderson brought eldest grandson Matthew Robinson from Amble for a day on the water and despite tough conditions the dedicated duo took three fish from the more sheltered south shore bay including a first Fontburn trout for Matthew – a 2lb 8oz cracker.
  • Best areas and flies North shore middle section and top bay. Cormorants, Zonkers, Damsels, Bibios, Daddies are best flies
  • Best areas and baits/lures: Feeder streams, north shore middle section, ledgered chartreuse PowerBait eggs, small Mepps spinners have taken most fish
