Catch of the week:
Mr Thomas Perrin caught his 8 fish limit for a combined weight of 18lb 4oz fishing from Pebble Beach using Red/Natural PowerBait Mice Tails, fished on a long trace under a bubble float
Memorable Moment of the week:
Phillip Taylor decided to give fly fishing a go during his visit to Grassholme this week. For a first attempt he did not do so bad, landing his first fish and dropping another using a small black dry fly pattern.
Best areas and flies:
The middle stretches of the reservoir have been the best areas. Brock Scar and Pebble Beach have been hotspots with easterly winds drawing fish away from the Dam wall. Regular hatches of Hawthorns flies have seen the trout actively feeding in the margins with anglers able to pick fish off with a well presented black dry close to a rise.
Best areas and baits / lures:
Pebble Beach as with the fly has been a hotspot for bait anglers this week. Lots of limit catches have been posted from this far bank, mostly caught using float fishing methods. Best baits this week include Red/Natural Mice Tails and Blue Mango PowerBait Turbo Dough.
Newsflash:
More fish in the 5lb-7lb range to be stocked this week including some top quality home reared Lartington Brown Trout.
