Catch of the week:
This week’s largest fish was taken by David Keith Ainsley at 3lb 7oz caught at Tower Knowe. David had a memorable day catching another 11 fish on fly and worm tactics. Green Fritz, Black Montana and Red Spider were his most productive flies.

Memorable Moment of the week: Twelve year old James Crenshaw who was staying on site, managed to catch his first ever trout whilst fishing at Kielder Waterside this week. James landed a 2lb 2oz trout using bubble float and worm tactics. In James’s words “He was not convinced it was a fish and thought he had hooked the bottom, until the bottom started swimming away!”

  • Best Flies - Bull Crag Tip, Kielder Waterside, Stockie Bay and Mathew`s Linn. Top patterns, Montana Nymph, Fritz Blobs, Black Pennell and Red Spiders
  • Best areas and baits / lures: - Tower Knowe, Kielder Waterside, Stockie Bay, Hawkhope and Mathew`s Linn. Orange PowerBait, Worm, Sweetcorn and Small Copper Spoons
Please note: Boats are currently due back at the jetty for 8pm

Newsflash: Kielder is fishing very well in the fine weather with an excellent rod average of nearly 6 fish per visit. Be sure not to miss out on the fantastic sport on offer and pleasant weather.
